Clover, SC, March 29, 2018 – Owens Corning Platinum Contractors are working with Habitat for Humanity of York County to provide new roofs to veterans in need and their families. Wilfred Boyd, a U.S. Army veteran, will receive a new roof on Thursday, April 5th, from TruGuard, an Owens Corning Roofing Platinum Contractor, as part of the Owens Corning national Roof Deployment Project. This nationwide effort is a way to show gratitude and honor the veterans who served our country and the families who support them.

“We are proud to be a member of the metro Charlotte area and are committed to giving back to the communities that we serve,” said Marc Bickler, CEO of TruGuard. “We’re happy that we can use our expertise to make such a positive difference in someone’s life, especially someone as deserving as Mr. Boyd.”

Owens Corning Roofing and its network of independent Platinum Contractors, along with support from the Owens Corning Foundation, are donating roofing materials and labor to replace roofing shingles on the homes of military veterans and their families throughout the country. Through a partnership with Habitat for Humanity York County, Wilfred Boyd was selected and approved as the recipient for the roof replacement.

“We are grateful for this partnership with the Owens Corning Roof Deployment Program and the whole team from TruGuard for their outstanding work,” said Tim Veeck, Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity of York County. “Collaborations like this help us serve more families and deserving veterans like Mr. Boyd.”
